Inspiration: How the story started you wonder?
In many countries there are houses in the water. Some are boats, and some are on stilts. I was on a trip and as usual, I was looking at everything I could. People, landscapes, houses.
At one point one of the houses made me think of the houses on the beach in Texas that were on stilts. (Yes, I lived in Texas for awhile.) One house I saw looked forlorn, and I wondered if houses missed their families. Ah! The story of Harlow was started!
